Eventival Recommends:
Platforms You Should Check Out if Considering Moving Your Festival Online

Dear clients, colleagues and friends,

No one knows how long the current restrictive measures around the world will prevent your events from physically taking place, and yet many of you have already invested considerable time, money and energy that should not go to waste.

We have therefore spent several days talking with our partners whose technological solutions could help you plan your festivals' next steps. If you are considering postponing or moving your festival online or you have already done so, see our suggestions below. Some of the integrations are still work-in-progress, but we are working on making them available very soon.

These suggestions may be useful even for festivals currently NOT using Eventival. If this applies to you, you are welcome to continue reading.

Scenario 1: ONLINE SCREENINGS AND ONLINE TICKETING

If you are looking for a ticketing and/or a VOD platform to bring your festival online, check out Eventive

Our Memphis-based ticketing partner Eventive has teamed up with the Canadian VOD service provider CineSend in order to offer Eventive Virtual Festival, making your films and events available for secure, ticketed on-demand and live streaming through your very own Eventive site or embeds, as well as directly through its streaming TV Apps.

Eventival integration with both Eventive and CineSend makes it possible to maintain your natural workflow and ask the filmmakers to upload their screeners through the Eventival interface right after your selection process has finished.
You can handle the accreditation process, preparation of the data for publication and scheduling in Eventival as usual.
When the time comes, rather than having to do this manually, you will be able to synchronise the prepared schedule with film information (and newly also the linked screeners) from Eventival to Eventive where you will then set pricing policy, geoblocking and other restrictions.
Both accredited participats and regular audience will be able to purchase tickets.
Eventive is integrated with your Eventival Account (therefore its users do not need an additional password to enter it).

Scenario 2: VIDEO LIBRARY

If you need a white label video library to showcase selected films to selected accreditation holders, check out Cinando Video Library

Cinando Video Library is an online B2B digital solution, launched by Cinando, the film industry network created by the Marché du film in Cannes, the world's largest film market. Cinando VL allows film festivals and other film institutions to stream their selected films online. Clients of Cinando VL have their own dedicated website and can customise their own interface from the page design to the viewers, film lists and more. The platform uses the same high levels of DRM security as Cinando Screeners.

The Eventival - Cinando Video Library integration allows you to push all metadata from your Eventival film database (catalogue details, stills, categorisation) directly into your Cinando Video Library.
Cinando VL lets you manage access rights, allowing different groups of people access to different film collections. Newly, we have implemented synchronisation between Eventival categorisation (groups, badge types) and these access rights.
Cinando VL is integrated with your Eventival Account (therefore its users do not need an additional password to enter it).

Scenario 3: ONLINE SCREENINGS WITH YOUR OWN TICKETING PLATFORM

If you have a ticketing system and would like to integrate it with a VOD platform, check out CineSend

CineSend is a Canadian cloud storage, conversion, and delivery platform trusted by thousands of the world's best film and TV creators.

CineSend is preparing assistance packages for film festivals looking to host virtual festivals that would allow the audience the opportunity to watch films from home.
Thanks to our integration, you can ask the filmmakers to upload their screeners into your festival's CineSend account through the Eventival interface right after your selection process has finished.

Scenario 4: ONE-TO-ONE MEETINGS

If one-to-one meetings are a part of your festival and you are wondering how to make them happen online, check out b.square

b.square is an Italian B2B matchmaking event management platform able to fully manage pre, in and post-event needs, from subscription to participants satisfaction evaluation.

To help our festivals that need to manage their one-to-one private meetings in a non-traditional way, b.square now offers a new video meeting function (powered by Jitsi) letting the participants create, accept or decline meeting requests and set their availability as usual. Once the final agendas are published, meetings can take place in a dedicated virtual room, easily accessible with one click directly from the platform.
b.square is integrated with your Eventival Account (therefore its users do not need an additional password to enter it).

Scenario 5: DCP DELIVERY WITH YOUR OWN VOD SERVICE

If you are looking for a DCP-delivery platform or have a VOD service that you would like to feed with content from such platform, check out FilmFetch

FilmFetch is a Dutch platform that helps ensure that digital film can be sent and managed flawlessly in a sustainable way.

Thanks to our integration, you can ask the filmmakers to upload their DCPs or screeners into your festival's FilmFetch account through the Eventival interface right after your selection process has finished, and then see the uploading status and the path and details of the DCPs and CPLs in the Eventival Back Office.
If your VOD platform has a FilmFetch integration, you will be able to synchronise all your screeners when the time comes, rather than having to upload them manually.

Last but not least: to keep your audience, guests and other participants informed about news, programme and event schedule changes during these turbulent times, you should consider using the options below:

Eventival Mobile App

The fully customisable App can show your audience information about your programme, venues, events, last-minute changes and news, lets the logged-in guests see their event schedules, hospitality details and industry lists, and works both online and offline.

Besides relying on the App before and during the event, festivals are starting to use it to inform everyone about news and updates.
You can create custom pages, fill them with information you want to share, and make it available also offline. If a news item (text, picture, link or a video) is published in the News section, users immediately receive a notification.
Eventival Mobile App is integrated with your Eventival Account (therefore its users do not need an additional password to enter it).

Your festival's website

Your own website can also pull the screening schedule, film information, panels, workshops, participants’ profiles and much more from Eventival via our API.

Your festival's ticketing system

Finally, your ticketing platform can do the same job as well, that is pull the screening schedule, film information, panels, workshops, participants’ profiles and much more from Eventival via our API.
Both your website and ticketing can be integrated with your Eventival Account (therefore participants will not need an additional password to log in).

We hope all of the above can be of help.

One example of a festival that has used several of these options is Visions du Réel which recently announced moving its programme online, and will be using the website integration, Cinando Video Library and b.square, all integrated with the Eventival Account. We recommend that you follow the festival's website to see how this all will come together, and if you need to know more, contact us.

At the same time, we would like to encourage you to tell us about your needs, challenges and ideas so we're aware of them and can adjust our priorities. We know that every day matters - you can always find us at info@eventival.com
