AMUSIFF
The idea to start a network of festivals presenting films with a strong musical theme, or at least festival who also have a strong musical element in their programming, was long discussed by the founders of Film on Music, o.s., the organizer of MOFFOM, or Music on Film - Film on Music International Festival of Music Films in Prague. In October 2007, MOFFOM invited a number of music festival organizers for a round table in Prague, to see whehter there would be interest in a project like this, and what it would ideally do. In October 2008, during the 5th MOFFOM, the event was repeated, and because it had by then become obvious that a music film network could do a lot for its members (from joint promotion and programming, co-promotion, coordinating film scheduling and guest visits, dealing with distribution companies to the possibility of joint grant requsts), the association was officially proclaimed. Dawna Cha proposed the name AMUSIFF.
While AMUSIFF remains an open and informal entity, its members are in frequent contact and help one another when searching for films and information.
Recently, the Kaunas IFF requested to join AMUSIFF which now had twelve members.
