ZagrebDox
ZagrebDox is the international documentary film festival held annually in late February or early March. The festival was founded in 2005 with the aim of providing the audience and experts with an insight into the recent documentary production, stimulating national documentary production and strengthening international and regional collaboration in the coproduction field.
In terms of programme, ZagrebDox is oriented towards organising a specialised festival, screening the best creative documentary films whose imaginative forms and selection of subject matter make this festival unique in both Croatia and Europe.
The competition programme is divided into international and regional competition. In international competition programme screens the best world films d’auteur and creative films made and produced in the previous year, focusing on all things new, daring, different and fearless in the documentary film world. The regional competition programme comprises film works from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Kosovo, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia. ZagrebDox is specially focused on its regional programme, which makes it all the more attractive for those wishing to acquaint themselves with recent regional production in one place.
In addition to the competitions, ZagrebDox has a series of non-competition programmes – retrospectives and films focusing on particular subjects, genres, techniques and aesthetics.
